ABOUT

Dancing the Red Road is a 25-minute documentary that explores the ancient Lakota ceremony known as the Sun Dance — a sacred ritual of renewal, prayer, and connection to the Great Spirit, Wakan Tanka. For four days, participants gather in nature, fasting from food and water, entering sweat lodges, dancing, and praying. Through this profound act of devotion, they seek purification, healing, and the strength to release what no longer serves them. In a world consumed by constant motion and distraction, the Sun Dance offers a sacred pause — an invitation to turn inward and reconnect with the essence of life. Rooted in the balance of the natural elements — earth, water, fire, and air — the ceremony becomes a pathway back to harmony with nature, spirit, and the divine within.
